For this recipe, you want a bun that is not overly bready so it doesn't take over the burger and make it hard to manage. A thinner brioche or sesame bun would be great.
I put a Portobello suggestion below as a vegetarian swap but I think it would also be good with the chicken. If you have it stocked, a thicker teriyaki sauce like Bachan’s is preferable so the meat doesn’t end up too wet.
These came together so quickly and while my kids would prefer a smash burger, they liked these!
