I use a toaster oven whenever I can in the hot summer months, as it doesn’t heat up the kitchen. I found these needed two minutes less than suggested, but we also like ours underdone, and in a regular size oven, her timing is likely spot on. If you don’t stock molasses, a dark maple syrup can stand in. She calls for unsalted butter, but I’ve just come to prefer salted butter in cookies so swapped that in here. If you stock unsalted, add ¾ tsp. sea salt to the dough.
