These would be great as a snack for those who are cooking in the kitchen, or served as an appetizer. If I were traveling with these, I would do the boil step, then finish them in the oven at location because warm soft pretzels > cold soft pretzels. Start these a few hours before you need them to allow for the rest time.
The boiling step is as simple as it sounds. It helps us get a chewier center and a crisper crust when they go into the oven. The honey mustard sauce can be made 3-5 days in advance and kept in the fridge until ready to use.
