If you have leftover mashed potatoes, we’re going to work those into the topping here. If you cooked anything remotely traditional, I’ll bet you have onions, carrots, garlic, a little cheese and a splash of leftover wine. Make your filling in the pan you plan to bake it in, and this actually comes together quite easily.

If you are not a lentil fan, 1 lb. of ground beef or turkey would be great. Or even half meat, half sautéed mushrooms? Brown the meat first, then add in the vegetables, and ingredients to make the “gravy”.
