I do believe a great sandwich starts with the bread. I don’t live near many fresh bakeries, and grocery store fresh bread is typically tough. I’ve told you how I found a brand called Cristal Bread at Sprouts that is perfect for sandwiches because it is light, tender and doesn’t take over. While I typically don't care for any of Trader Joe’s fresh breads, they started carrying sandwich rolls (clear plastic bag, yellow label, oblong shape) that while larger than the Cristal buns, are a great texture once toasted. I repeat, they must be lightly toasted! I hope you can find a light bun or French roll for these!
Don’t get spooked by the anchovy. It’s just one small guy and SO mild so you won’t even know it’s there but it will give you the vibes of Green Goddess. I like a very light amount of mayo in my tuna sandwiches, so if you like it more traditional, add a bit more than suggested. If you don’t care for tinned tuna, chicken would be fine here too!
