The trick to cooking these burgers is to get the patty super thin. If your patty is too thick, it will need to cook a lot longer than how the recipe is written below. If you find your burgers are taking longer to cook through, reduce the heat and put a lid on top.

If you’d like, you can also fry or grill the burgers on their own and simply serve them on top of the pita.
