Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie

Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie

Back to school and we’re needing after-school snacks that have some nutrition, the kids find permissible to share with friends (“everyone else gets Oreos” eye roll), and can take us to dinnertime. This is filling and also feels like a treat. Add a squeeze of honey or another date if you want it sweeter.

I ambitiously buy bananas now with the plan that once they go slightly speckled, I peel, halve, and freeze them for smoothies. Whether you like the taste of banana or not, they do make a smoothie thick in the best way. I add unflavored, vanilla, or chocolate protein powder. Our house favorite is Levels, which I can also find at Costco. I am also interested in the Ballerina Farm one. I try to avoid whey, so I have been using Ka’Chava—it’s a little grittier than whey and the protein is lower, but it does the trick if you avoid dairy.
