Thing is, I love a slaw-type recipe as part of a holiday meal, so click back to last year's Shaved Brussels and Kale Slaw if you are looking for something crunchier, or the Winter Salad is popular as well.
Both fennel and apples are quite heavy, so getting a thin shave is helpful for them to not all just sink to the bottom of the bowl.
