Birthday Cake Rice Crispy Treats

The secret to "birthday cake" flavor, be it a lip balm or ice cream, is a hint of almond extract, and sprinkles of course. We're taking our most simple treat and making it feel celebratory.

I find almond paste or marzipan near the baking section. It's occasionally at Trader Joe's (may be seasonal?) or at larger markets. The former doesn't melt perfectly smooth into the butter and I was worried it would be chunky, but the final result was great and the flecks of it were a nice surprise. Don't stress about it being perfectly smooth!
