We love all tacos and these certainly have the Mediterranean flair I love. It is a few different bowls for a weeknight meal, but each are pretty simple. The yogurt sauce and carrot slaw can both be prepped up to a day ahead for a make ahead moment.
I bought a Ras El Hanout Moroccan spice blend to keep this easy. Should you want to mix it up yourself from an abundant spice collection, this recipe looks good.
I can't always find preserved lemons (here if you want to mail order) at the market so I left an asterisk so you don't run all over town searching. They have a super unique, quintessentially Moroccan flavor, and minced up into the yogurt go so well, but I don't want to write recipes with hard-to-find ingredients. So find it if you can't or don't stress. If you still want some bitterness, whiz up half of a small, seedless lemon to get that tart and bitter hit.
