Freezer Prep Beef Ragu
- Serves

I made a few gallon freezer bags of proteins that could just be thrown in a slow cooker or Dutch oven and set to cook themselves. I like one of these “shreddy meat” meals as we call them on our busiest weeknight. I set it in the oven, cook up some rice (or use freezer rice from Trader Joe’s!). Quick steam some broccoli and throw together some dressed greens and ta-da, a forgiving protein and complete meal all around!
A great idea to pass along a bag to someone having a surgery or a tough time. What a gift to have the prep already done! That said, we have another Braised Beef Ragu with the searing of meat and cooking down of vegetables that yields a slightly better result. As I learned from Samin Nosrat, there is a trade off in flavor building when you are making a "time saving" meal. Keep this one in the freezer, and the other for company!
