I found boneless pork butt steaks, already cut that way. I am not a great butcher so this was helpful! You can cut them yourself, one-inch thick, or ask the butcher counter to do it for you.

The slow cooked shreddy and broiled carnitas we loveeeee is typically made with the same cut of pork, but don’t expect that texture when cooking this recipe. This is a quicker version with the same great flavor!

I was trying to write the yields easily, but the pineapple here will be a bit more than you need for the pork, so snack on a spear or two to get more of a 2:1 pork to pineapple ratio.
